We are looking for two experienced project leaders with complementary and mutually reinforcing expertise to translate Collective Making's ambitious idea into educational trajectories and a directly related research trajectory in the short term. We therefore explicitly ask you to respond to these two vacancies as a team/duo.
The project leaders direct the design and implementation of cross- / inter- / de-disciplinary education. At the same time, the project leaders conduct research into this practice, thereby contributing to the further development of the A&D Arnhem Academy profile. Given the size and ambition of the project, preference is given to two project leaders with complementary and mutually reinforcing expertise. The project leaders will work closely with the heads of the Art & Design Arnhem programmes and with the Academy Director.
Project leader curriculum innovation
You are experienced in organising 'hands on' educational projects and are able to translate conceptual sketches and wishes into practical educational projects for current students. You are motivated, self-directed and have insight into the field of art and design.
Project leader research
You are experienced in research and have knowledge of educational systems and structures. You are able to interpret abstract principles and translate them into similarities, differences and conclusions. Furthermore, you are innovative, motivated and driven.
Appointments are for one year with a view to extension. The gross monthly salary is a minimum of € 4,445.52 and a maximum of € 5,717.25 (Position Advisor/Policy Officer C, scale 12) based on a 36-hour working week. Besides an informal and open working atmosphere, we offer attractive employment conditions in accordance with the CAO-HBO such as a holiday allowance of 8%, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and good study and development opportunities. The work mainly takes place in Arnhem.
ArtEZ University of the Arts is one of the major art academies in the Netherlands. ArtEZ offers bachelor and master programmes in the fields of visual art, fashion, design, architecture, music, dance and theatre. Its broad range of courses offers room for multidisciplinary collaboration.
The academy has approximately 3000 students and 900 lecturers and other staff. Education is provided in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle. The Executive Board and the supporting services are concentrated in Arnhem.
The Academy for Art & Design Arnhem has approximately 850 students and 270 teachers and other staff members, divided over three bachelor's programmes, with a total of seven fields of study.
Collective Making is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the 7 study programmes of Art & Design Arnhem: Base for Experiment, Art and Research (BEAR); Creative Writing; Digital Art & Technology (DAT); Lecturer in Visual Arts & Design; Fashion Design; Graphic Design and Product Design, which will start in 2021 and will extend over several years.
Collective Making poses the question of interdisciplinary cooperation between the Art & Design courses in Arnhem: How can we cooperate with each other as Art & Design courses (How to collaborate). How can co creation take shape and can the frameworks of the own discipline be questioned and transcended.
Collective Making wants to investigate these questions as well as put them into practice at the same time. It is an investigation that takes shape through doing and making.
Collective Making aims to arrive at new perspectives, insights and methods in the relationship between art & design and society in a broader sense.
