Senior Back-end developer (Internet of Things) F&B

As a Senior Back-end developer IoT F&B, you are a member of the Agile IoT Team and responsible for developing smart products & IoT solutions for the F&B business unit to serve customers. Your focus will be on the back-end of the solution and you take the lead in which you implement but also manage a couple of (remote) back-end colleagues. You must be able to switch quickly whereby, in addition to the solutions, you also work on minimum viable products, rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts.

You will also:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software that impacts our customers and inspires your peers.
• Develop detailed technical (back-end) architecture block diagram for cloud solutions
• Implement production platform building back-end automation tools
• Create test platforms to review coding quality
• Capable of independently clarifying technical requirements, assessing development estimates, and applying a broad range of design approaches.
• Review code of other team members and provide constructive direction.
• Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding.
• Support product risk assessment, develop guide for IOT design requirement, support developing test plan for integration
• Continuous learning of technology trends, tools, and approaches, including sharing this knowledge with your team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3+ years experience with Amazon Web Service Infrastructure and Platform as a Service tools.
• 3+ years experience with the programming languages - Python, Java, NodeJS or C++
• Able to mentor teammates on team software, team culture, and customer obsession
• Extensive experience working with Cloud based data stores like S3, DynamoDB, Lambda and AWS Appsync.
• Deep understanding of mobile and web technology stacks – Swagger API specifications, Restful API
• In-depth understanding of computer programming and network security
• Expert understanding of data modeling, database design, performance monitoring and tuning
• Experience in collaborating with global technology teams is a plus
• Deep technical knowledge in Agile software development (Jira platform)
• Experience in working with IoT vendors / third party service providers is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Data Analytics / Machine Learning / AI are a plus
• Excellent command of written and spoken Dutch and English.
• Willingness to travel internationally and locally several times a year to other Pentair locations, congresses/exhibitions and customers

In the last years, the IoT team has made great progress with solutions that make a real impact for our customers using state-of-the-art technology and architecture. The goal for the IoT team in Enschede is to convert requirements into an (strategy) architecture, coordinating this with the local R&D departments and taking the lead in the IoT development.
