Twente.com is the website of the Twente Branding Foundation. In the implementation of our work we are able to process personal data on or through our website. The people processing these data are all involved in the foundation. These may include the employees of and people on secondment to the foundation, student-trainees, visitors to an event and external business partners (contractors, network partners). The personal data that the foundation processes depend on which services and functionalities the party involved uses from our foundation or its website.
The data that you have provided may be shared – as part of the implementation of our work – with selected, contracted third parties, and be recorded in a digital or other file. The foundation treats these personal data with great care to ensure their confidentiality, providing them protection and security.
How are personal data gathered?
Personal data are in most cases provided by the person concerned. These data may if necessary be transmitted within the foundation from an internal source system or carried over in another internal or other system.
Furthermore, the foundation also receives personal data from the systems of third parties. These may be closed or open source systems, such as Twitter, LinkedIn or other social media.
The foundation may also collect your data when you leave these on the website of the foundation, for example in order to keep you informed of the various activities or news items or other reports of the foundation.
General purposes of the data processing
Your personal data are processsed by the foundation for one or more of the following purposes:
– Customer relationship management: maintaining contact (for example, through social media, email, or by post or telephone) with customers and network partners of the foundation, mailing lists, newsletters, job alerts or campaigns;
– Operational management and finances: management of financial administration, payment systems, IT management, internal and external auditing, accountability to subsidy providers and members or partners of the foundation, or for legal proceedings;
– Events: data processing for possible or actual participation in events, or for visual material for the communications of the foundation;
– Generic: the processing of your application or availability for answering questions, in order to optimise and further secure the website of the foundation or for content management (CMS).
Data from website visit
The foundation receives data that it obtains on the basis of your visit to Twente.com. Examples of these are cookies: the foundation uses these data in order to gain a better idea of our business partners and customers, or to develop and adapt our service and our website to your personal preferences.
For Twente.com the foundation uses Google Analytics or third-party suppliers in order to analyse the operation of the site and to be able to measure and optimise the return from traffic sources. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google has a legal obligation to do so, or insofar as third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. The foundation has no influence on this. The foundation does not permit Google to use the analysis information it has obtained for other Google services. The information that Google collects is made as anonymous as possible. We emphasise that your IP address will not be shared.
Disclosure to third parties
The foundation passes on to third parties the data that you provide, if this should be necessary for the implementation of the services you have requested.
When the foundation provides your data to a third party, the foundation ensures, for example by means of an agreement, that these data will not be used for other purposes. The foundation also agrees in this that your data will be removed as soon as they are no longer required.
Your personal data are retained no longer than necessary in order to achieve the purposes for which they are collected and processed. There may be exceptions to this if retention is necessary for historical, statististical or scientific purposes, or in order to comply with a statutory provision.
Retention of your data
Personal data that we have received or collected from you may be stored and processed in the Netherlands or in any other country within the European Union. In exceptional circumstances data processing may be carried out in a country outside the European Union. We only allow this when the applicable statutory measures that are required for security and privacy have been met.
Our foundation protects the data entrusted to it using technical and administrative security measures in order to reduce to a minimum the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure and modification. Examples of such measures include firewalls, the encryption of data and physical and administrative acess control systems to the data and servers.
