TRIMM wins award with Ziggo application

Ziggo, a component of Liberty Global, recently began offering a Hosted Calling service for businesses. It is a service directed at businesses, which replaces their traditional telephone exchange with a virtual one. However, Ziggo was not satisfied with the application’s design or user-friendliness. It asked TRIMM to develop a “sexier” design.

The internet agency, which focuses on B2B services, created a new, responsive and multi-brand design for Ziggo, as well as a front-end application to go with it. TRIMM got more than a satisfied customer out of it; the company was also showered in appreciation from the professional interactive sector and won the prestigious silver Dutch Interactive Award in the B2B category for its efforts. Marc Woesthuis, manager of TRIMM: “We are extremely proud to win a DIA for the second time. We work hard to come up with and develop the best possible solutions for our clients. We see this award as our crowning achievement.”

Hosted Calling for Businesses

The application targets two different types of users: administrators and end users. End users can use the application to review their call log and listen to voicemail messages. Administrators can set up phones, create call groups and customise option menus. Besides increasing user-friendliness by offering an easy to use and recognisable interface, TRIMM also developed an intuitive solution that allows the application to be used for multiple brands. Liberty Global also plans to offer its Hosted Calling for Businesses service via UPC, Virgin and Unitymedia.

Gaining an edge in the market

With this application, Liberty Global managed to transition from a dated and hard-to-use environment to a new application that all user groups find pleasant and intuitive to work with. This has significantly reduced the learning curve for the operation of the self-care environment. The indirect result for Liberty Global is that the company has managed to gain an edge on its competitors in the market with a design and user experience that users call “best in class.” Liberty Global is therefore also planning to provide other self-care environments with a similar user-friendly interface. At the moment, around 500 organisations in the Netherlands are already using the application. This result was achieved without any additional marketing or sales efforts. The service will be introduced in Ireland, Romania, Poland and possibly Germany soon.
