Internationalisering

The investments in the East-Netherlands will predominantly take place in the sectors Agro-Food, Life Sciences & Health, High Tech and Energy & Environmental Technology. From across the globe, international companies come to our region to establish their companies here. Companies from amongst others, the United States, Canada, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and South-Africa set themselves up in our region.

Eddy van Hijum, Deputy Economy, Province of Overijssel: “Globalisation is an important focus of our provincial economic policy. Internationally oriented entrepreneurs will find fine possibilities in Overijssel to set themselves up, to expand and improve their competitive position.”

Henk Ligtenberg, head investment facilitation Oost NV: “Oost NV wants to reinforce partnerships between foreign companies and SME’s from Overijssel through, for example, economic missions, convention visits and knowledge exchange. Alongside trade incentives, we will of course also remain committed to bringing (foreign) companies to our region.”

Trade impetus

Oost NV helps entrepreneurs in gathering knowledge, the development of their networks and supports companies from East-Netherlands in finding foreign partners abroad. In 2016 during foreign missions and international events, in which 130 companies took part, more than 600 valuable contacts were made. The participation in events varied from the Hannover Messe in Germany to the RSNA in the United States and some trade missions to China.
