Green Team Twente is ready for the start

Past Monday, Green Team Twente arrived in London for the Shell Eco Marathon, the largest sustainability-race in Europe. With the new hydrogen car H2∞ (‘H2INFINITY’) they will compete other teams from across Europe and aim to end up on stage. The student team from Twente wants to drive 1 in 1000 in order to match last year’s third place.

Technical inspection

Green Team Twente is ready for the start! Tuesday, the technical inspection of the hydrogen cart ook place and they were the first team to successfully round up this inspection. This makes it possible for them to start in the Urban Concept Class, the ‘premier league’ of the Shell Eco Marathon. This race will take up two days.

Shell Eco Marathon

Shell Eco Marathon is one of the world’s most challenging and largest student competitions in the field of innovation, technology and sustainability. The international students will take on the challenge to design a vehicle that can drive as far as possible with just one litre of fuel. The current record in 3.771 km, which equates to the distance to drive from Amsterdam to Rome and back. It is the second time that the Shell Eco Marathon takes place in London. Because of the many hills in track around the famous Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the track offers some unique challenges for the participants.

About Green Team Twente

Green Team Twente 2017 consists of 19 students from several different disciplines. A majority studies Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente but the team also has students in Industrial Design, Advanced Technology, Technical Computer Science, Technical Physics and Technical Business. With several courses it is possible to enroll in a the minor ‘Green Team Twente’.
